Steven, a true friend & gentleman

My memories of our friendship will always stay with me Steven. I cannot believe you have been taken from us. We met, age 5, way back at Church Walk Infant School in 1976 and a more true & loyal friend I could never have found. This started when you were given the role of Dr Dolittle in the school production, I was the Snow Queen, and had the misfortune to step on the hem of my skirt walking onto stage........the skirt headed straight for the stage floor and whilst everyone else found this highly amusing, it was you who ran across the stage and put the dreaded skirt back in its rightful place!!!! From that day on I knew I had a real friend. Many hours were spent at either yours or my parents house, listening to 80's vinyl (CD's could never take their place!), favourites were The Smiths, Suzanne Vega, Bon Jovi & Culture Club, quite a weird mix!!! We continued to be firm friends through our time at Victoria High School, I endured alot of bullying and unhappy times at Ulverston Vic, you were always there for me and I am sure without your friendship and support I would not have finished my schooling and exams. I will always be indebted to you for your friendship Steve, when we meet again, save a seat at the bar for me, I owe you many beers, many hugs and many thanks. With much love, "Sedge" xxxxx
